An official transcript is the University’s certified statement of your complete NMSU academic record, including coursework, grades, and degrees earned. Credits earned through transfer work are listed but do not include grades and are not included in the NMSU GPA calculation.
Whether delivered as a digitally signed PDF or a printed copy, the official transcript includes features that ensure the authenticity and security of the document.
To ensure timely delivery, we recommend that you have critical official transcripts sent electronically whenever possible.
Requests for official transcripts will not be fulfilled until all financial obligations to NMSU are paid. If the hold has not been resolved within five (5) business days, the pending transcript order will be cancelled and another request will have to be submitted after the hold is resolved. To resolve a financial hold on your transcript, you will need to contact University Accounts Receivable (UAR)
An unofficial transcript contains the same information as an official transcripts, including coursework, grades, GPA, and degrees earned. However, unofficial transcripts are printed on plain paper and do not include any features that ensure the authenticity or security of the document, such as the NMSU seal or the University Registrar’s signature.
Unofficial Transcripts are available, at no charge.
You can order an unofficial transcript in one of the following ways:
When University Student Records receives a request for a notarized transcript, the staff print the requested document(s), procure the signature of an authorized University employee, and notarize the document. The document(s) and notary statement are mailed, first class, to the requestor provided address.
It is the requestor's responsibility to send the information to the New Mexico Secretary of State Office for an Apostille. See the State of New Mexico Notary and Aspostille Information for forms and steps to complete, after you receive the notarized official transcript from New Mexico State University.
